Using the Bathroom Switch’s Sensor Pad behind a mirror.

It is not possible to use the Sensor Pad behind all but the smallest mirror unless the following method is followed:-

Choose a position (or positions) on your mirror where you wish to be able to touch to operate lights etc..On the reverse of the mirror, mark out an “island” of silvering just larger than the footprint of your Sensor Pad. .Mark out a further line which is at least 6mm (1/4”) outside the first line. Mask off the mirror’s silvering within the inner line then also mask outside the outer line.

Remove (by scraping, or better still sandblasting) the silvering from the section remaining, thereby creating an “island” of silvering. This is shown below as a circle but the “Island” can be of any shape to suit your design preferences.

Place a piece of insulating tape over the “island” where the Sensor Pad is to be mounted. Using a silicone based mirror adhesive, fix the Sensor Pad behind the “island”.

Your mirror should then be mounted in a method which stands it off from the wall by at least 30mm (1 ½”). Use a frame of plastic or wood to achieve this.

OR you can purchase a ready-made mirror complete with sensor fitted from SATANA INTERNATIONAL
